— Financial aid, institutional and resource support… what kind of support can we provide to each other now? We asked this question to culture and arts workers and found out that all you need is psychological support! Marta Bilska, the CSI’s education manager, shares the project «Psychotherapy for culture». Culture Strategy Institute together with Maxym Koliada, psychologist, lecturer UCU, prepared something for you to help answer this questions. We made this video project to talk sincerely about things which bother all of us.

What feelings we’ve got with the beginning of quarantine? Why virtual events and communication can’t replace real meetings and engagement?  What’s next? Mini lectures from CSI’s and professional psychologist is an attempt to understand our current state better and, as Maxym says, what this is happening for with us, what we can learn from the experience of quarantine and isolation.

Psychotherapy for culture. Part 1
«In fiction literature,  particularly in the works of Stanislav Lem, such a weapon as a disintegrator is mentioned. How does it work ? Hitting the target, it does not break it into the pieces, but splits it into elementary particles. And I would call COVID-19 such a disintegrator on a planetary scale: either the global or our local social fabric the virus has split into fibers. How do we dealing with it , how does our psycho reacts to such splitting, breakdown, social disintegration? This phenomenon has both negative and positive effects,» —  Maxym Koliada explains.

So, about the influence of quarantine, alone with the  “existential paradox” and “biochemical cocktails”, “safeties of burning-out” and “wardrobe revision” in our first video «Psychotherapy for culture» ( yes, we do like the «Psychotherapy for the city» project).

Psychotherapy for culture. Part 2
Why people of culture feel lack of direct contact with the audience especially noticeable and why it is so important to feel the feedback? What does the spectator miss while watching performance or concert online?  How can we use this new experience? Let us talk about this in the second issue of  «Psychotherapy for culture».

Psychotherapy for culture. Part 3
The third mini-lecture «Psychotherapy for culture» finds out what happens after pandemic, which scenarios are possible? And also why it’s so important to understand the reach  of one’s own and to build the new plans. Listen to Maxym Kolyada.

«Psychotherapy for culture» project of  the Institute of Culture Strategy and Professional Psychologist is an attempt to analyze the quarantine experience  and what it can give to people of  culture and the sector in general.
