On April 17, the RE:UNION Act\u2014a cooperation agreement for Lublin 2029, European Capital of Culture\u2014was signed in Warsaw.<\/strong> And we are part of this important event and the story that continues to unfold!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yuliia Khomchyn, Director of the Cultural Strategy Institute and leader of Lviv\u2019s bid for the title of European Capital of Culture 2030<\/a>, represented Ukraine at the ceremony and joined as a signatory to the act, which symbolises the unity and partnership of many parties. Lviv, and in particular the CSI, has been working alongside Lublin on its path to ECoC status: this involves shared ideas for the Polish city\u2019s application to this European Union competition, participation in its final pitching, and further cooperation within the Lublin ECoC 2029<\/a> programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the ceremony, which took place at the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland, those present were welcomed by the Minister, Marta Cienkowska, and the Mayor of Lublin, Krzysztof \u017buk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rafa\u0142 Kozi\u0144ski, the Lublin Mayor\u2019s Representative for the ECoC 2029 program, Chair of the ECoC Curatorial Board, and Pawe\u0142 Potoroczyn, Director of the ECoC 2029 institution, also took the stage. They\u2019ve revealed what\u2019s next!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representatives from Lublin\u2019s academic, youth, business, creative, and civil society sectors, as well as local governments of municipalities in the Lublin Voivodeship participated in the signing of the RE:UNION Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The signatories committed to collaborating within the framework of the RE:UNION concept, as outlined in Lublin\u2019s application. RE:UNION is presented as \u201ca process of uniting people, cultures, and values, based on a dialogue between the past and the future, tradition and modernity, as well as East and West,\u201d and \u201cthe joint building of an open and inclusive European community.\u201d The goal is to strengthen local and European communities through culture and foster long-term changes that extend beyond 2029.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
